The Evanston Symphony Orchestra will open its 69th season – titled Romanticism Endures- at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall in Evanston conducted by Music Director Lawrence Eckerling on Sunday October 26, 2014 at 2:30 PM. The program, titled Russian Rhapsodies, begins the Romantic theme with the Midwest premiere of the Rhapsody on Moldavian Themes by Mieczyslaw Weinberg, one of the greatest Russian composers of the 20th century, whose true stature has only recently been established.
